Gemma Birnbaum presents "Thou Shall Not Be a Victim: Armed Resistance in the Holocaust"

From 1940-1943, the Jewish residents of nearly 100 ghettos in Nazi-occupied Europe formed underground resistance movements, aiming to break out of the ghettos and join partisan groups in their fight against the Nazis. Join assistant director of education for curriculum Gemma Birnbaum to learn more about the men and women who armed themselves with anything they could find, and smuggling in what they could not, to wage a battle for the lives and dignity of their fellow Jews. Please note: some of the images shown may be graphic and not suitable for younger audiences. Feel free to bring your lunch or just enjoy the lecture.
