"Dear Sirs" Student Documentary Screening
Hall of Democracy Auditorium

Bring your students to The National WWII Museum for a screening of Dear Sirs in commemoration of POW/MIA Awareness Day. After watching the documentary, students will have a Q&A session with the filmmaker.

Despite spending nearly every day together for 10 years, it wasn’t until after his grandfather’s death that filmmaker Mark Pedri learned of his horrifying journey as a prisoner of war during World War II. After discovering an archive of photos, letters, and documents detailing his grandfather’s story, Pedri set out on bicycle 75 years later to retrace his footsteps across Germany and better understand the man who helped raise him.

Admission to the Museum is free for students and teachers attending in person. Teachers who register will receive a one-year license to stream the documentary in their classroom (regardless of whether they attend the screening in person).

Spots are limited. Sign up today.
