"In Memory of What I Cannot Say" Opening Presentation
Louisiana Memorial Pavilion

5:00 p.m. Reception | 6:00 p.m. Presentation | 7:00 p.m. Exhibit Viewing

Join Curator Larry Decuers and special guests for the opening presentation of The National WWII Museum’s newest special exhibit, which will be open for viewing throughout the evening.

A component of The National WWII Museum’s extensive commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, this special exhibit examines the life and work of a French fine-art painter who fought Nazis on several battlegrounds, including Sword Beach with the Free French Commandos on June 6, 1944. Guy de Montlaur, who suffered multiple wounds in combat that he carried for the rest of his life, channeled the aftereffects of his wartime experiences into his art. More than two dozen of Montlaur's paintings and sketches have been gathered for In Memory of What I Cannot Say: The Art of Guy de Montlaur, which explores the artist’s journey into and beyond war to find healing through creativity.

This event is free and open to the public but please register to attend.
