Film Screening: "Invisible Warriors: African American Women in World War II"
Solomon Victory Theater

5:00 p.m. Reception | 6:00 p.m. Screening | 7:00 p.m. Q&A

Join The National WWII Museum as we welcome filmmaker Gregory Cooke and real-life “Rosie the Riveter” Susan King for a screening of Invisible Warriors: African American Women in World War II.

The film is an unforgettable conversation that explores the social, economic, and political influences of Black Rosie the Riveters. These 600,000 hidden figures courageously triumph over racism and sexism to help win the war, and create job opportunities in industry and government administrative service for themselves and future generations of African American women. These patriotic pioneers share their wartime memories, recounting their battles against racism at home, Nazism abroad, and sexism everywhere.

A Q&A with the filmmaker and real-life “Rosie” Susan King to immediately follow the screening.
