Malcolm S. Forbes Rare and Iconic Artifacts Gallery Opening Reception
Louisiana Memorial Pavilion

5:30 p.m. Reception | 6:30 p.m. Presentation

Join us as The National WWII Museum opens the newly renovated Malcolm S. Forbes Rare and Iconic Artifacts Gallery in Louisiana Memorial Pavilion.

The Museum’s collection includes more than a quarter of a million objects and a wealth of archival material and oral histories―mainly donated by veterans and their families. In the Malcolm S. Forbes Rare and Iconic Artifacts Gallery, hidden gems from the Museum’s vast acquisitions reveal the stories behind some of the most monumental events in the war that changed the world or serve as symbols of an era of historic conflict and change.

In addition to these rare and iconic pieces, the gallery will feature Voices from the Front, a new interactive experience that allows guests to hold conversations with more than a dozen members of the WWII generation. Through artificial intelligence, museumgoers are able to personally engage with veterans, Home Front workers, and other witnesses to the war after they are no longer with us to share their firsthand stories. Voices from the Front puts real faces to history, offering unique and intimate perspectives and bridging the gap between generations.

Following a reception and presentation, the gallery will be open for viewing. Registration is encouraged but not required. If you cannot make it to the Museum for this event, you can watch live through Vimeo.
