Bob & Dolores Hope Summer Theater Camp: July 8-19 |
Registration opens online for Museum Members on Friday, February 23, at 9:00 a.m. and for nonmembers on Monday, February 26, at 9:00 a.m. Calling all future stars! Whether your camper is most interested in singing, dancing, telling a joke, or delivering a dramatic line, the Bob & Dolores Hope Summer Theater Camp is the place to learn to do it best. Over two weeks, campers will see how BB’s Stage Door Canteen puts on a show, working one-on-one with trained, talented, and friendly Museum professionals to learn the rudiments of stage-craft. Campers will be directed in small groups and receive personal attention, and will be given their parts based upon both their interests and prior experience. Campers will also enjoy a special behind-the-scenes look at original WWII-era USO entertainment artifacts and costumes from the Museum's collection. The final week of the camp will culminate in a variety show performance by the campers in BB’s Stage Door Canteen for their friends and family! The story of how Bob Hope gave levity and laughter to troops during one of the most brutal conflicts in human history is a crucial component of the history of the war—and a demonstration of how humanity can shine through in the darkest of times. The National WWII Museum is proud to have this program supported by Bob & Dolores Hope Foundation. Start Date:
