Presented by The National WWII Museum and the Commemorative Air Force

Friday, October 24, 2014
9:00 am – 5:00 pm
New Orleans Lakefront Airport

The National WWII Museum and the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) are excited to announce a truly thrilling upcoming event: For one weekend only, WWII AirPower Expo 2014 takes over the tarmac at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, featuring a fleet of legendary aircraft of World War II — fully restored and ready to fly.

As a part of WWII AirPower Expo 2014, Friday, October 24th, will be a special Student & Military Day. Admission for student and military groups will be free. Student group visitors will take part in a set of special hands-on activities focused on both the history and science of flight as they learn about what it took to keep iconic aircraft like these soaring overhead.

The WWII AirPower Expo 2014 opens for visitors at 9:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm. On-site parking for buses will be provided.

All student groups must RSVP for their desired visitation time-slot on Friday, October 24th, to receive free admission. Please email collin.makamson@nationalww2museum.org or call (504)-528-1944 x 304 to begin the reservation process.

While attending the free Student & Military Day, take advantage of all the Expo has to offer, including:

  • Vintage aircraft from the CAF collection including a P-51 Mustang, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, and B-29 Superfortress

  • Live music: Entertainment by our Victory Big Band and the singing, dancing Victory Belles
